This is a small study exploring the two Pantone colors for 2016.
I love these colors because they are so soothing yet cheery, and they blend the masculine with the feminine. It also gave me a reason to play with texture, and explore how color can move the eye around an image, even in the absence of complex subjects.

In Part 1 we familiarized ourselves with the Daily Paintworks navigation. Now lets take a look at bidding - the fun part!
From here you can easily keep an eye on your bids, all those paintings you are agonizing over whether or not to place a bid on them, and links to contact artists. It also lets you know when paintings are shipped. I have to say, being a patron of the arts feels particularly nice, especially when it goes along with winning. So please, go ahead and give it a try. Collecting original artwork made by real, live human beings can be easy, and surprisingly affordable (yes, those prices are really for the originals!) I say that as someone who, yes, sells artwork on DPW, and also as someone who purchases from there. Other Posts You May Like
You know what you like. Collecting original artwork doesn't have to be more complicated then that. That being said, navigating new-to-you websites can sometimes ruffle things that shouldn't be ruffled, so lets take a relaxing look at Daily Paintworks -http://www.dailypaintworks.com/ . Daily Paintworks (or DPW) is a gallery, with a collection of individual artists' galleries, and an auction site all rolled into one. If you like just looking at artwork (and what sort of person doesn't?), the home page lists new artwork every day. We've probably all dealt with the big “e” - you know that auction site I'm talking about. This one has a friendlier vibe – it's more like a Mom and Pop auction home. That could be because the owners, Carol and David Marine, are right in the thick of things – they look after every little detail! The easiest way to find the paintings I have available is to go to my gallery (http://www.dailypaintworks.com/artists/aee-miller-5025/artwork): This probably wouldn't be a very good walkthrough if I just stopped there, would it? Lets take a look at navigating auctions from the DPW homepage. You are able to search by media (watercolors, pastels, oils, and so on), size, colors, price, by specific artists, and several other criteria. Lets take a look at finding a specific artist. Ok! Sure, there are many buttons to click, but now you can click them with confidence! Part 2 will cover the fun part - bidding. Registering is free, so just go for it. :) Other Posts You May Like |
